Protecto C© – The new surface treatment for parts out of copper, brass, and bronze

"Protecto C" is a group of electrolytic surface treatments containing nickel, originally created for the application on parts out of brass, copper and bronze. "Protecto C" exists in several varieties such as the standard surface treatment "Protecto C100" and the "Protecto C200" which is auto-lubricating.

"Protecto C" offers an economic alternative to tin plating, nickel plating and silver plating. A comparison between "Protecto C" and tin shows that, in the long run, the conductibility of "Protecto C" is distinctly higher. Moreover the resistance to higher temperatures is considerably better. Impartial tests with salt spray on brass parts confirm that the corrosion resistance of "Protecto C" is definitely higher than traditional treatments which makes it perfectly adapted for the maritime environment.

The surface roughness of the basic material is maintained after treatment. A smooth surface remains smooth, a rough surface remains rough. Moreover, the coating brings an added-value to the visual aspect because it resembles stainless steel.
"Protecto C" is a unique treatment, which guarantees a prime coating, even at less accessible places and on materials which are difficult to treat such as stainless steel. A surface treated with "Protecto C" is very easily cleaned by rinsing it with water.
