Tin plating (Sn)

Tin plating is the application of a layer of tin to metal parts. This is mainly done to improve the corrosion resistance of parts. Other benefits include better ductility and it facilitates the soldering process (conductivity). Basic materials that are classically tinned are copper and brass or other copper alloys.

Tin plating is applied to bus bars and connectors, among others. Applications are mainly found in the electronic and industrial sectors.
